Sterling Tanner

Sterling Tanner is the President and Executive Director of the Forever Young Foundation, a Foundation for children founded by Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young. The Foundation’s mission is to pass on hope and resources for the development, strength, and education of children. Prior to joining Forever Young, Sterling served as the Chief Financial Officer, and Managing Director of Anasazi Foundation, a nationally accredited non-profit organization serving youth with substance abuse, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Sterling also spent several years in the for- profit sector working as a regional manager and then Director of Operations for an electronic banking firm.
Sterling serves as a board member or board chair of several non-profit and for-profit entities including Anasazi Foundation, Christmas Box House, nuvoH2O, Engage Now Africa, and American Leadership Academy – and as an advisor to the HGGC Capital Impact Foundation and American Indian Services. He is also a member of the Arizona Management Society and a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International. Sterling has organized numerous charity events featuring personalities such as Barbara Bush, Stephen Covey, Danny Ainge, Jerry Rice, Brian Regan, Bo Jackson, Derek & Julianne Hough, and Alice Cooper.
Sterling graduated from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Y oung University in 1990, with a degree in Finance. He speaks Swedish, having served as a missionary in Sweden. Sterling resides in Gilbert, Arizona with his wife Brenda – they are the parents of three children.
